Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP for the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web, including her own release single Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed as part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. In 2018, she appeared on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. And Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream, from the album was released on September 5, 2018 with an accompanying music video. On the 9th of November the singer released two new singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang together with Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on the 16th of November. It then came out as a single on its own in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. In February of 2019, the music video for this track debuted. The song has received more than 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
